Please forward this email to the rest of your group so everyone is aware of this information.
The following information is quite important and everyone in the group should be aware of it as it pertains to specifics that may be different from your homes.
GARBAGE AND RECYCLABLES. EVERYTHING HAS TO BE IN A PLASTIC GARBAGE BAG OR IT WILL NOT BE PICKED UP. Garbage should be placed in the gray or black trash cans near the chimney and RECYCLING in the BLUE recycle can there, you can co-mingle plastic bottles, glass jars, aluminum cans and tin cans , cardboard and newspaper, but again it all has to be in plastic bags. There are plenty of garbage bags under the sinks and in the entry closets. Garbage pick up is Monday and Friday. They remove it from the receptacles so no need to move the cans.
REFRIGERATOR USE- Per manufacturers instructions leave the temperature settings in the mid range. Many past renters have tried to speed up the cooling process by putting the settings at the coldest setting. This will cause the refrigerators to not go through their regular defrost cycle and freeze up and not work. It just takes time when you completely restock a refrigerator for it to cool, especially when you have 10 people opening and closing the doors. Just be patient.
Fireplace and Fire Pit - Duraflame type logs are prefered. These are more eco-friendly, less messy and safer. Always make sure the Flue is open by making sure the damper handle is pulled fully towards you.
Checking In - The House address is 17 Hemlock Way, Unit 7 Lake Placid, NY. The address is on the front of the house as well as a sign that says SandbrookDuo. GPS usually takes you to the top of Hemlock Way, just travel straight the Townhome is at the fork and Unit 7 is on the right.
You are scheduled to check-in at 4 PM . There are no keys to the house, your pass code will be be emailed to you.. Just enter your custom code that engages the handle to work and push open the door.
PARKING
You have room for up to 4 vehicles to park at the house depending on their size. One vehicle can be parked directly in the front of Unit 7 side of the townhome, right hand side as you face it. The other vehicles can be parked at the lower level parking area in front of the lower deck of #7. These are the only two areas available for you to park. If your vehicles do not fit in these two areas a vehicle can be parked at the lower golf club parking lot.
NOISE
My home is located in a quiet residential community, many people are year round residents. Noise travels easily up here for some reason. So even a few people gathered outside talking can be disturbing to my neighbors after 9 p.m. So please be sensitive to my neighbors rights to quiet evenings. Especially when using the outside decks and hot tub.
Propane Grill
There should be an adequate supply of propane as I have several tanks. If however there is not, they can be exchanged at Hannaford Food Store or Stewart's convenience store, these stores are located off of route 86( this is the road to town). If you are unfamiliar with the use of a propane grill please contact me.
Hot Tub - The hot tub is your responsibility. Please leave the cover on when not in use. Keep the water at mid skimmer door level. There is a hose on the railing of the house and an outside spigot next to the front door. The tub instructions are posted on the sliding glass door leading to the hot tub, the basic chemicals and test strips are on a shelf on the porch. The tub has a continual built in chlorine dispenser, but after heavy use you may need to add one tablespoon of HTH shock (confirm need with test strip) and Fresh and Clear (one capful). If the tub temperature drops below 85 please call me immediately.
Kayaks and SUP's- There are 3 Kayaks and 2 SUP's on the racks at the Marina for your use. They are labeled SandbrookDuo and 732-996-6021. The paddles and. life vests and leashes are stored on the Hot Tub porch. Please return them each day after use. You can access the path to the beach at the end of Hemlock extension past the lower level parking area.
